"Keyed" as in biometric type swipe cards. If you leave, retire or lose it the card is deactivated immediately. If someone uses a weapon to force the receptionist to open the door out of the lobby, they are trapped in a hallway, no way out. It's a pain for getting around but I'm glad it's there.
