I spoke, perhaps, too soon.

Apparently taking a few days’ worth of expired veterinary antibiotics is NOT the best way to get rid of a sinus infection. Who knew?

I’m even thinking about breaking down and going to see the doc-in-a-box.

  1. I hit a doc-in-the-box place (Spectrum Urgent Care) about 3 years ago when my temp hit 104. Obvious infection. I was in and out in about 45 minutes with a ‘script for some antibiotics. No fuss, no muss.

  2. No, it’s not. In fact, you can make your situation much much worse by doing so. Whatever antibiotic you took, you probably now are infected with a strain that is resistant to it.

  3. I had no idea how widespread that hack was. Twice last year the antibiotics I have for my uh birds and fish (which I’ve checked in a pill identifier, and are merely diverted from the supply stream for people) have licked a nasty infection in my uh birds and fish.

I’ve got a Current medical diagnostic and treatment and other reference works which would be really handy if I was not vetting my uh birds and fish.
