Not swine flu, but gunbloggers with Eees. Tam’s the latest.
Off the top of my head, there’s also Roberta X, Alan, pdb, Caleb and Breda.
If you’re thinking about taking the plunge, be aware that the keyboards on the 900 series machines are TINY; the 1000 series is much more usable, with the trade-off being the larger overall size of the machine. I got my 900A as a gift and I love it, but if I were to buy a new machine for myself, it’d be the 1000.
Hey, I’m pretty sure I was the first. I had a pre-order, which is why it was delayed. Anything I want gets delayed. Second everything you say about the size though. The 1000 is quite a bit more usable.
You’re not really a blogger; you’re on LJ. Go cry, emo kid
You need to get back on IRC one of these days; you’re missed.
Someone suggested that a Linux EeePC be reformatted and reinstalled with OS 10. When I read that comment, I nearly doused my monitor in holy water and burned it.
Yes, well… Just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you SHOULD do it.
There’s guys out there who jump through all kinds of hoops to get OS X shoehorned onto these little machines, but IMO OS X is just too damned heavy for low-powered hardware like this. Even Ubuntu is pushing it.

Okay, I LOL’ed.
Eeebuntu works great on the Eee. You’re right about the keyboard, it’s almost too small for me, but I needed the size for portability and I’m not writing novels on it anyway.
If you have tiny girl hands (like me) then the keyboard on the 900a is fine. I hate you with your normal human sized digits.
The Eee’s are fantastic little machines.
What’s even better is they’re coming out with a touchscreen version, where you can use the thing like a tablet.
But Caleb, you have such pretty hands!
I’m really likin’ my Eee, even with Windoze. I’d try Eeebuntu but I use Q10 for writing and it doesn’t fly there.
Add me to the list of Eee owners. Can’t claim to be much of a gunblogger, though.
