A Minor Ruger Scoop?

The SHOT show doesn’t kick off until later this week, but I just may have stumbled across one of Ruger’s new offerings a bit before its official unveiling.

Shooters with long memories might recall that Ruger used to offer Mini-14s with factory-installed folding stocks, back before the late Bill Ruger’s ill-considered attempt at gun-banner appeasement.

Well, it looks like Ruger is poised to reintroduce an updated Mini-14 Factory Folder, this time with a stock that both folds AND collapses, along with the de rigueur rail farm on the forend.

Nicely done, Ruger. It’s about time!

  4. You know, I wasn’t planning on spending much time at the Ruger booth, but now they’re going to be my very first stop.

  5. I really want to like the minis, but every time I pick one up, look at the price, think about mag availability and do a quick mental compare to the other options (AK/VZ or AR) the other option wins.

If they could flood the market with 20 and 30 rounders that actually feed for $15 a mag, and tighten up the bore on the mini-30 to work with Wolf et. al., I’d be looking at them seriously.

  7. Bill Ruger sold out the gun community a long time ago. Being politically correct during the assault weapon ban, not offering hi cap mags for the mini thirty etc. It seems they are now struggling like everybody else and and have prostituted those lofty principles in pursuit of the dollar. I hope that the gun community has not forgotten this and continues to by ar-15’s
