The Unforgiving Minute
Sometimes too much to drink is barely enough.

Wish me luck.

I’m conducting my first staff meeting with my onions scallions minions tomorrow.

It’s not too big of a deal; basically we’ll run through the rules and procedures (which I’m still learning) so everyone’s clear on their responsibilities.

I’m just a little anxious because (A) I’ve never been a boss before, and (B) I’m still getting up to speed on everything myself.

Oh, the burdens of command. I think I need a drink.

  1. Speak clearly and don’t equivocate. Remember, they can smell fear. Pick the ringleader out of the group and take him down fast and violently. Establish dominance early.

Wait, these might be my notes on something else. They should apply, though.

  2. Hehe, I remember when I used to run a couple of computer labs. One at an Engineering University, and two at Bill Cosby’s Alma Mater. (Both in Philadelphia, PA)
The first one I had about a dozen students working for me, and I had them trained to come over to me, bow their heads, and wait to be smacked upside the cranium whenever they did something stupid.
At the other college, I managed to hire only attractive, female, student workers. (I didn’t deliberately search them out, but they were smarter, had more common sense, and were more trustworthy then any of the guys that applied.) Definitely made it a lot easier to get myself to go to work in the morning!
