Stocking Stuffer Challenge

Bitter Bitch asks:

If the Santa in your family could fill your stocking with some gear or one gun, what would it be?

That’d be the same gun I’ve been jonesing for since last fall: a Ruger No. 1 in .450/400 Nitro Express.

 Ruger No. 1

One of our (somewhat) local shops even has one in stock at a good price. Just think, if my three regular readers scrounged under their couch cushions and came up with a paltry $275 each, I could have a shiny new elephant gun to unwrap on Christmas morning.

  1. Or you could get a #1 in 45/70 and shoot Buffalo Bore bullets in case there is dangerous game in the bush near you.
Or if you just want to surprise the shooter in the next lane, the report is magnificent.
Check out the foot pounds and feet per second.

Also, regular factory loads are semi reasonable in price too.
Another also, Hornady Leverevolution with the 325 grain evolution bullet is a good white tail load.

  2. Yeah, but I have a thing for the old British cartridges… I want a No. 1 in .303 British too, but that’s a custom proposition.
