The Unforgiving Minute
The kind of man who wants the government to adopt and enforce his ideas is always the kind of man whose ideas are idiotic.

Thanks, man.

I get home from my 13-hour day at school, walk the dog, check email, sit down to read the blogs…

… and Justin Buist has to go and wreck my day.

Look, I don’t care if the government of Michigan shuts down. It barely functions anyways, and I sincerely doubt I’d notice any difference if they laid off every single state employee. But suspending liquor sales WILL NOT STAND. Especially when I’m completely out of tequila…

  1. Sorry ’bout that. At least you’ve got some warning though.

What’s interesting is Granholm wants to shut down revenue sources if the budget isn’t fixed. They gather money from the Secretary of State, obviously, but she’ll shut that down, quite likely creating criminals out of folks that can’t renew their plates during any outage.

They obviously make money out of the lottery — but that’ll get shut down. Same goes for the booze market. They’re only involved there because they make money out of it.

But, we’ll continue paying out raw money for welfare. I pulled up Granholm’s proposed 2008 budget and found that the she’s looking for $2 billion to be paid out as income to poor folks. Michigan needs $1.75 billion right now.

Cutting off a revenue source would only exacerbate the budget problems, but damned if she’ll cut off the free loaders in our state. She has no choice but to annoy the people that actually pay taxes for her plan to work.

  2. Just an FYI - The state is in debt to our company something to the tune of $28 million. I’m ashamed that she’s a Democrat, we should’ve put DeVos in. At least then I would feel better about bitching…
