Writer’s Block Device

td@thinkpad:~$ cd bloggingideas
td@thinkpad:~/bloggingideas$ ls -l
total 0
td@thinkpad:~/bloggingideas$ echo 'you fail it'
you fail it
td@thinkpad:~/bloggingideas$ exit

Yeah, I’m a geek.

The decTOPs for the group buy have been ordered; I should get them sometime next week. That’ll make for some blogfodder.

  1. You should try running MAME on it and see how well it works. Emulation usually requires an ungodly amount of processing power, but there’s always a chance this could work “okay”.

  2. I’m planning on running it as a headless server, actually. I’ll probably install X11 and a lightweight window manager so I can use it as an emergency workstation, but they won’t be running most of the time.

  4. Your Red Hat roots are showing, dude :-)

I’m on Ubuntu, which doesn’t have ‘ll’ aliased to ‘ls -l’ by default.

  5. Well, I meant just to “try it out”.

  6. Hmm, it might be able to handle some older games, maybe even an NES emulator. We’ll see…
